Quick Stop at Tower Bridge

The iconic Tower Bridge, not to be confused with the London Bridge immediately to the west, is a quick and relatively cheap attraction to see. It’ll run you nine pounds, but I whipped out my student ID and paid £6.30 (I’m broke, don’t judge me!). I climbed the two hundred some-odd stairs because as I mentioned, I’m trying to get these glutes in order. Plus I didn’t want to queue (wait in line) to get stuffed into an elevator. Zero competition on the stairs!

There are a series of informational boards up and down the halls, and videos you can sit and watch that explain the history and the mechanics of the building. The view is lovely;

and glass floor is really cool. It took a lot to step on and then sit on it, and even then I stayed close to the edge because I’m terrified of heights!

 There’s a second part of the tour where you come back down to the office level, then follow a line along the street to where stars take you beneath the bridge. There you see the gears, hydraulics, the tools used to work on it, etc.

It only took around an hour to see the bridge in its entirety. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a specific interest in this bridge. Just walk near the river and take fun pics from the outside!

    Ooh…the glass floor is even cooler if you are there on a day when the bridge lifts!

    1. I bet! The bridge lifted when I got too far away to get any good pictures, so I just enjoyed what I could see.
